The trophies are few and the purses small, but the reason to run in the Glendevon sheepdog trials is as old as the Scottish hills themselves. Sooner or later, every dog has his day.

The good things in life stay that way.

In 1640, moments before Scotland’s Caerlaverock castle fell, the Lady made her escape.

And every twelvemonth since, on the very eve, she returns. Or so they say. The good things in life stay that way.

About The Blog

The latter group are often referred to as “mixologists,” a term given to practitioners of “mixology,” which is really just another way of referring to the practice of making good cocktails. Mixology might seem like a newfangled term, but it’s actually pretty old, like mid-19th century old, and was only revived as a way to describe the recent renaissance of bartenders caring (a lot) about their craft.
