“I don’t want a dry martini.

Or an extra dry martini.

Or an extra, extra dry martini.

I want a ridiculously dry martini?

And a ridiculously small bit of vermouth won’t make it that way. You need a gin that’s more than just plain dry. Calvert Gin is 100% dry. Extra distilling steps make it that way. It’s ridiculous to expect any other gin to be drier.

It was born on the wrong side of the ocean.

But it makes a smashing good dry martini.

We know a few martini-lovers who wouldn’t touch American Gin with a ten-foot flag pole.

Calvert Gin was born to change all that. We battled the British for choice botanicals, on their own ground: the rich fields of Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany. We used fresh, hand-cut lime peel to give our gin a crisp, subtle flavor all its own.

We put our gin through extra distilling steps to take every last drop of sweetness and perfuminess out. When the first bottle popped out of our distillery, we had a gin so dry we stamped “100% Dry” right on the label. (Who said Americans aren’t as dry as the British?) Try Calvert Gin in your next martini. You’ll like it. You may even salute it.

Is the gin always drier on the other side?

Some martini drinkers seem to think so.

They stubbornly refuse to touch a drop of gin that isn’t blessed by Noble British Birth.

Whereas, Calvert Gin is blessed only by our stubborn devotion.

We go to great lengths to bring back choice botanicals from all over the world. (Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany.) ”

We use only fresh, hand-cut lime peel to achieve a crisp, subtle flavor.

And we put our gin through extra distilling steps until it’s 100% dry — drier than anything the British can produce.

We’ll never understand why someone would wait for a bottle of gin to travel 3,000 miles.

When there’s something at least as good in his own backyard.

About The Blog

The latter group are often referred to as “mixologists,” a term given to practitioners of “mixology,” which is really just another way of referring to the practice of making good cocktails. Mixology might seem like a newfangled term, but it’s actually pretty old, like mid-19th century old, and was only revived as a way to describe the recent renaissance of bartenders caring (a lot) about their craft.
