Cocktails for Revenge of the Fifth

Cocktails for Revenge of the Fifth
Holidays and Observances

Revenge of the Fifth is an unofficial holiday celebrated by some fans of the Star Wars franchise on May 5th, the day after the widely recognized “Star Wars Day” on May the Fourth (as in “May the Fourth be with you”). The name “Revenge of the Fifth” is a play on words of the Star Wars movie title “Revenge of the Sith”.

The holiday is observed by some fans as a continuation of the festivities from the day before, and involves re-watching Star Wars movies, wearing Star Wars costumes, and enjoying Star Wars-themed food and drinks. While not an officially recognized holiday, Revenge of the Fifth has gained popularity among Star Wars fans as a way to extend the fun and excitement of Star Wars Day.

About The Blog

The latter group are often referred to as “mixologists,” a term given to practitioners of “mixology,” which is really just another way of referring to the practice of making good cocktails. Mixology might seem like a newfangled term, but it’s actually pretty old, like mid-19th century old, and was only revived as a way to describe the recent renaissance of bartenders caring (a lot) about their craft.
