Pacharan Liqueur Cocktails

Pacharan Liqueur Cocktails
Cocktails by Ingredients

Pacharán is a traditional liqueur from the Navarre region of northern Spain. It is made by macerating sloe berries in an anise-flavored spirit, typically anisette or anis, along with additional herbs and spices such as cinnamon, coffee, and vanilla. The sloe berries used to make pacharán are small, purple fruits that grow on the blackthorn shrub, and they are harvested in late summer or early fall when they are fully ripe.

After the sloe berries and other ingredients are macerated together for several months, the resulting liquid is filtered and then bottled. Pacharán typically has an alcohol content of around 25-30% ABV and a deep, reddish-purple color. It has a sweet, fruity flavor with notes of anise, cinnamon, and vanilla, and is often served as a digestif after a meal. Pacharán is a popular drink in Navarre and other regions of Spain, and is often enjoyed with tapas or other small plates of food.

About The Blog

The latter group are often referred to as “mixologists,” a term given to practitioners of “mixology,” which is really just another way of referring to the practice of making good cocktails. Mixology might seem like a newfangled term, but it’s actually pretty old, like mid-19th century old, and was only revived as a way to describe the recent renaissance of bartenders caring (a lot) about their craft.
