Frangelico Liqueur Cocktails

Frangelico Liqueur Cocktails
Cocktails by Ingredients

Frangelico is a sweet hazelnut liqueur that originated in Italy in the 17th century. It is made from a blend of hazelnuts, cocoa, vanilla, and other flavorings. Frangelico has a distinctive nutty flavor and aroma and is typically enjoyed as an after-dinner drink or used as a flavoring in cocktails and desserts.

The production process for Frangelico involves toasting and crushing hazelnuts and then blending them with a mixture of cocoa, vanilla, and other natural flavors. This mixture is then distilled and infused with alcohol and sugar to create a sweet and smooth liqueur.

Frangelico is typically served neat or on the rocks, and can also be used in cocktails and desserts. It pairs well with coffee, chocolate, and other dessert flavors, and is often used as an ingredient in popular cocktails like the Nutty Irishman and the B-52. It has an alcohol content of around 20-25% ABV. The distinctive bottle for Frangelico is shaped like a monk, which is a nod to the legend of a hermit monk who lived in the hills of Piedmont, Italy and crafted a secret recipe for a hazelnut liqueur.

About The Blog

The latter group are often referred to as “mixologists,” a term given to practitioners of “mixology,” which is really just another way of referring to the practice of making good cocktails. Mixology might seem like a newfangled term, but it’s actually pretty old, like mid-19th century old, and was only revived as a way to describe the recent renaissance of bartenders caring (a lot) about their craft.
